i am not a fan of courtney love. in fact, most of you know know me well will know i hate her. i do not hate her for the same reasons i used to. youth and ignorance is waning and now i'm seeing the horrific business she is doing. what she owns and how she has managed it makes me maaaaad. but this is not a post about love. this is a post in spite of her.
i am now the proud and very enthusiastic owner of the nirvana reading dvd. boyo. it's quite nice.
i've noticed some stuff. it's funny watching a light show that is not completely obsessed with red. i'm sure ive seen it lots actually but it really stands out. the pink and the yellow is cool man. also the dancing guy. TONY. a lot of blogs and reviews and things ive read about this dvd fid him really annoying. i think i might be in love. please find me a tony. he has moves "and he still writes all the songs".
there is this sense of humour throughout everything that i think people forget about bands. they are friends and they are sharing this experience, why not make it fun right? that fact that he died and now nirvana has this tragic nostalgia about it kind of annoys me sometimes. i think sometimes it adds too much meaning and weight to stuff you watch or stuff you are listening to. so from what i read people are taking this way too seriously. enjoy it.
it is bloody good. only regrets are 1. not being there and 2. being able to watch and hear it in better quality than those who ACTUALLY WERE THERE.
ps - not nearly enough shots of him in the wig at the start.
pps - "power of the bootleg" think love might have missed that idea in the grunge conference room.
